Ania Pilipenko is the Founder and CEO of Metawalls.io, an NFT platform bringing Berlin's street art to the Metaverse.
Metawalls is a very cool company, the first-ever to bring street art into the Metaverse, displaying Berlin's real street art pieces to walls in an open-air space online. But, as we discuss, there's also a helluva lot more to it than that.
Blossoming out of the lockdown, the original focus was to bring Berlin's walls to the international community that missed them so dearly when cut off from travel. Once launched, however, it has transformed into an ecosystem for artists, collectors and street art fans to participate in the development of street art projects and culture.
On this episode, we discuss the Metaverse and what Metawalls.io, beyond its virtual land, is doing to give artists more financial independence, fundraising abilities, and opportunities to put more art on the physical streets.
